• Web Designer / Web Developer •

There is a big difference between a web designer and a web developer.

Web Designer:
A web designer (in layman's terms) creates the style, the look, the colors and adds images and text to a website. Each page of the web site is like the page of a book. The web designer is responsible for each page's look and layout. He or she will usually use basic HTML. (Hypertext Markup Language - the language which gives a website the ability to be seen online via your web browser and gives you the ability to click on links to see other pages, etc.) More than likely the web designer will use an HTML editor to achieve the overall site look, design and functionality.

Web Developer:
A web developer (in layman's terms) doesn't usually use an HTML editor to code a website, they usually do all their coding by hand. They have spent many, many years learning various programming languages and can program a website to do many things. Since web developers are essentally programmers they can code a site more efficienty as well. And since HTML editors are not generally used by the web developer, the junk coding that most HTML editors add to the site page is non-existant making the page load quicker and more efficiently.

The web developer can also add user interaction if needed.

Let's say you want a members only area that is password protected or you want a site that you can manage yourself, add/edit text, upload images, etc. (A Content Management System), the web developer can do this and so much more.

So the big difference between a web designer and a web developer is the designer provides you with basic HTML pages (examples: Home Page, About Us Page, Contact Us Page, etc., known as static pages). The web developer allows your site to become fully interactive. (known as dynamic pages).

Now if you are lucky enough to find a web designer/web developer you can get the best of both worlds and this will certainly satisfy any need that can arise. Let's say you only want a basic (static) site for now but later on down the road you want user interaction. The web designer/web developer takes all this into consideration initially when building the site making sure the site can be changed quickly and easily to fit any future needs/changes. Hiring a web designer/web developer is what we call one stop shopping because you get it all at one place. And this is who we are. We do it all!

• Hosting and Domain Name Registration •

We always refer our clients to www.godaddy.com for hosting and domain name registration.

The reasons being:
Godaddy is US based - in Arizona
Godaddy provides 24 hour a day call in support - quality service
Godaddy provides linux hosting - essential for dynamic pages and web development
Godaddy's rates are very low
Godaddy never has down times.

We also recommend to each of our clients that they register their domain names themselves and obtain the hosting too. This way they are in total control of their web site at all times. If you let someome else register your domain name.. they could own it and you could lose it. Not good!

• Price/Rates •

Website prices can vary from $20 for a one page, static HTML site with a few images and some text up to thousands of dollars. It all depends on what your site's needs are. The more Elaborate/Dynamic sites will always cost more because they require much more time to develop.

We charge by the hour, billed in minute increments. Our rates are much lower than the rest considering most charge $75 - $125 hour for what we are capable of doing. Please do a search on google.com for "web design rates" and you will find this to be true. So if you decide to hire us..... you will get the best for a lot less.

We do require a $200.00 ("in good faith") deposit to begin any project. This is deducted immediately at the start of the project so in essence we owe you until the *deposit time is used up. If your site costs less than the initial deposit once it is completed, you will be reimbursed the difference.

We provide each client with an online client time sheet/invoice that they can access at anytime to see what we have done, how long it took to do it and a running tally of the total cost. The client is expected to "pay as you go" which will make payments easier on all.
* The deposit time equals 6 hours and 40 minutes worth of initial work. The full deposit is refundable if the deposit time (initial work) has not started. If the work has started but has not reached the full deposit time, the amount that can be refunded is $200.00 minus the amount of time (multiplied by our hourly rate) spent on the project under the deposit time.

What is "Pay as you go?" We will send you a payment notice each allocated time we work on your site build whereby payment is expected at that time. This will allow you to make payments intermittently during the build process and not all at once after the site is completed. Most people find it easier to make payments with the "pay as you go" method and this is only one reason we have chosen this method. So in essence, you make payments each time we complete a part of the site build and we receive compensation for allocated work we have already completed. It's fair for everyone involved. So if you need the extra time to gather material (images/text) for your site build this can be accomplished at your leisure. For those of you who want your site build completed as quickly as possible, this is still an option as well. You decide.

Please Note: ALL Payments are due IMMEDIATELY after each invoice is sent to you. We have a ZERO tolerance towards late payments and this will cause us to drop you as an undesirable client. You will then have to find another web developer and pay much higher rates. If you adhere to our payment policy.. we will bend over backwards for you! (smile)

All payments are accepted via credit card/debit card. We don't accept money orders, checks or e-checks. Payments are made via the invoice which you will receive at the onset of your site build.

• Why Hourly Rates? •

We charge hourly for a very good reason. It's fair all the way around. Let's say you want a basic HTML only site that consists of only 3 pages with some text and images. It may take us only 3 hours to complete this type of project. If we charged by the page you'd lose out as most designers who charge by the page will charge $100 or more per page. So in essence, you pay only for our time and nothing more. Why charge one person the same price that someone else who required more work would pay? It's simply not fair and this is why we charge by the hour. You pay for our time and nothing more. To see our rates: CLICK HERE

• Quotes •

We do not provide quotes. No two sites will ever be the same nor will they cost the same. The end cost totally depends on the site's needs. However, you can rest assured a site that is static will always cost less than a dynamic site. Dynamic sites, including Flash animated sites, will always cost more because they take longer to develop than a basic HTML static site.

Some people see a dynamic site online and email us to ask us how much it would cost to build a site like that. Our best answer to that question is to recommend they email the owner of that site and ask them. Only the owner of that site will know how much their site cost to be built.

• What we need from you to build your site •

1) Your content, images and text
Please Note: Any images, text or any other form of content used on your site is your responsibility alone so when sending us images/text/content make sure they do not violate copyright laws. Images/animations that we create from scratch will not violate copyright laws as they will be our own creations.
2) How many pages do you want?
(i.e., Home page, About Us page, Contact Us page, Gallery page, etc.)
3) Links to sites you like and what you like about those sites
4) The email address you plan to use for your site
5) Your hosting info: FTP address, username and password (we will help you with this if need be)

Please have the above ready prior to the onset of your site build. Remember, changes can be made anytime after the initial build. As always, you are big part of the design process and your input is expected and appreciated during the site build.

• Updates/Maintenance •

We can do all the updates and maintenance your site needs and our rates stay the same throughout, an hourly charge billed in minute incrememts. So if we spend 20 minutes on an update all you will pay for is the actual 20 minutes for the work performed.

If you want to be able to make the updates yourself we can build you a Content Management System with a secret login area, where you can log into the site and make changes without any programming knowledge. This can include adding products to a shopping cart, editing or adding pages on the site, uploading images, etc.. Remember... Content Management Systems are dynamic sites and will cost more than a static site.

• Location, Location, Location •

We work with remote clients all the time. So it doesn't really matter what your location is. We can accomodate your needs as long as you have an email address. Many times it's easier to work this way because the more in-depth the idea is, the more vital it is that we have a text record on hand to reference what it is you need. This will ensure the best quality work and a minimum of editing being necessary afterwards.

A lot of details can be lost or misheard in a phone or face to face conversation, as we'd be trying to take notes, listen and discuss at the same time. Whereas, if you were to tell us in an email, we'll have a very concrete reference as to what your needs are.

• References •

We sincerely hope you will contact all of our clients for references. You will see they are very happy with our work, the speed at which we complete projects and our rates. We don't lose clients. By all means.. please check us out thoroughly..

• Experience - We have over 22 years of experience. •

We were creating web sites long before the internet became graphical. That was back in the day when all you could see was a black screen with white text and no images. This was long before most people were even aware that the internet existed.

Back then we had to program our own software applications. We used various programming languages to achieve our end result. We also created / programmed / marketed many children's educational software applications and video educational programs (where we transferred the software to play on VCRs as well).

We build our own computers from the ground up and fix them as well. So all in all.. we do it all. Please contact us for more information.

• Outsourcing •

Outsourcing is when a web designer uses another source to complete the site build/design. This could be a programmer, a flash animator, someone to fill a need they cannot. We do not use outsourcers nor do we outsource our work. We have no need to do so since we do it all ourselves.

• FREEBIES •

Many times we throw in FREEBIES for our clients. This could be in the way of a free update, a new application we programmed in our spare time that may be of use to them or special promos to help their site get noticed more. Our motto is.. "If you are happy.. we are." So we do whatever we possibly can to keep our clients happy. Our clients are our top priority, they are our business afterall.

So... Try us out.. you'll be very happy you did!
